U. S. Electricar displayed the Swiss Horlacher "City" EV prototype. A consortium has been assembled to develop a similar purpose-built electric vehicle (featuring composite materials) for production by Electricar in Sacramento, California. Consortium participants include the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), Electricar/Synergy, Cibe Composites, Horlacher AG, and McClellan Air Force Base (Advanced Composites Office).
